Instructions for presenters


Oral presentation

  • Only the LCD projector is available in the session hall. It has a VGA (analog RGB or D-sub) and HDMI connectors but not a mini DisplayPort.
  • You can bring your own notebook computer. During the break time prior to the session featuring your presentation please check the connection between your PC and the projector .
  • Please bring a copy of your presentation file saved in a CD-R or USB memory stick in anticipation of any possible trouble with your PC.
  • The presenters should keep the allotted time for the presentation including 5 minutes discussion.

      • Plenary lectures: 45 minutes presentation time including 5 minutes discussion.
      • Invited talks: 30 minutes presentation time including 5 minutes discussion.
      • Contributed oral talks: 20 minutes presentation time including 5 minutes discussion.
      • Presentation in Research Exchange session: 20 minutes presentation time including 5 minutes discussion.


  • Poster presentation

    1.Mounting of the Posters

  • The size of the poster panel is 90 cm (in width) x 210 cm (in height).
  • Presenters are requested to mount their posters using a pin prepared by the PSA-19 committee on the panels assigned by Poster Number during the period from the morning of Nov. 4(Mon) to the noon on Nov.5(Tue). The Poster exhibition will be held at "Palace Hall West" on the 3rd floor of Hotel Emisia Sapporo in the evening on Nov. 5, 2019 (Tue).
  • The presenters with ODD Poster Number shall attend their own posters and perform poster discussion during the first half of poster session. During the latter half of the session the EVEN number posters shall be discussed.
  • At the end of the poster session, all scientific participants are requested to vote a poster number for the best poster presentation, the Powell Prize.
  • The Powell Prize winner will be awarded at the Banquet site.
  • During the whole period of the symposium the poster will be open. Each poster shall be removed on Nov. 8(Fri).
  • Please remove the poster by the end of the symposium. If it were posted after closing the symposium the poster would be discarded by the steering committee.

    2.Short Poster Speech

  • To explain audience about your poster, presenters are assigned to give their oral presentations just before the Poster Session.
  • The presentation time is 1 minute for moving to the next speaker. Each presentation is stopped by Chair when time is up.
  • The next several speakers should wait for their turn in line near the present speaker.

  • Guideline for the Short Poster Speech file
      • The presentation file should be a PDF format. Any other types of electronic file are not accepted.
      • The file name should be "XX-YY_presenter-name.pdf". XX is P or PD. YY is the Poster Presentation number. The presenter-name should be abbreviated, for instance, as A-K for Akira Kurokawa. The example of the file name is "P-01_A-K.pdf".
      • The Poster Number will be given in the Scientific Program on the PSA-19 Web. (http://www.sasj.jp/PSA/PSA19/sci_prg.html)
      • The presenters are requested to send Short Poster Speech file to
        Akira KUROKAWA (a-kurokawa@aist.go.jp)
        no later than October 28(Mon) 12:00(JST).
      • The Poster Speech File will not be used for any other purpose, and they will be deleted from the presentation PC after the poster session.
